On The Beatles topic...

This is a continuation of the last post (thought it was a tad boring to have everything in one). It continues on the theme of The Beatles (to whom I have expressed my unwavering devotion... i.e. I'm a fan!).

You might learn something new today... Or you may go straight to the bottom of the post where I will link to some Beatles music (I know you want to;-))

10 Interesting facts about The Beatles
  1. The Beatles' popularity is often referred to as 'Beatlemania'.
  2. Lennon and McCartney were the core and starting members of the band. They first performed together in Liverpool in 1957.
  3. Aside from the more recent Across the Universe film that features the Beatles music, The Beatles also made some feature films in their careers, including their first two feature films, A Hard Day's Night (1964) and Help (1965) which have been compared to the comedies of the Marx Brothers.
  4. Their 'experimentation' did not stop with music, with certain band members trying out LSD and transcendental meditation.
  5. John Lennon and Paul McCartney used to jam together on the piano. This contributed and led to the song 'I Wand to Hold Your Hand' in 1963.
  6. George Martin, the Beatles producer, scored music with a Baroque, orchestral influence in many of their songs (like 'Yesterday' and 'In My Life'). He also used a full orchestra in 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
  7. In 1988, The Beatles were inducted into the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame.
  8. John Lennon, who was famously murdered by a crazed fan, now has a memorial devoted to him called 'Strawberry Fields Forever' in Central Park, landscaped by his wife, Yoko Ono.
  9. In 1997, Paul McCartney was knighted by the queen of England.
  10. George Harrison (after the break-up of The Beatles) formed a group with Bob Dylan and Roy Orbison called 'The Travelling Wilburys'.

Here are some of their songs (if this upload works properly that is...). I'm new at this so there are only two tracks. Please let me know if they are not working?

I'm sure most people have heard the popular beatles songs. One day, when I am an accomplished music uploader, there will be more...

And here is a song for non-beatles fans (all my Rolling Stones songs and most of the others are in the wrong format so I guess you'd have to be a Led Zeppelin fan to enjoy this)
