Once upon a time, a mammoth task was begun.
She poured strands of her soul into it.
She gave it love.
She gave it care.
She gave it life.
It flourished under her artistry.
Challenges
were fun;
Playtime
had all but begun.
Then there came a virus;
uncertain little bugs
to eat the cords: the strands
that lay at the foundation
She fled.
cowardice.
the creepy crawlies lay dormant
for a long while.
Nothing changed.
It was,
as she left it.
life was in shambles.
the task had been neglected.
something happened.
It had to.
She realised that they had a symbiotic relationship:
Her and It.
So she regathered the broken strands,
picked up her bag
full of replacements;
she came back.
this is not the end.

ReplyDeletelol. loved it. :)
Haha. Well it's like life in a way... it continues;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you liked it:-D
Very nice. It's not how hard you can hit, but how much you can take the hits and keep fighting. At least that's what Rocky says. ;)
ReplyDeleteOur efforts don't always go smoothly, and sometimes we get discouraged. But there's an instinct in us, if the endeavor is important enough, to continue what we started.
ReplyDeleteThanks Janene:) Good comparison. Who knew that Rocky had such great wisdom to offer. Hehe;)
ReplyDeleteNP, that's very true. There is something to be said for finishing what one started. It takes guts, or a huge push of motivation, to accomplish what failed the first time.
I like this - very intriguing! Can't wait to read more.

I loved the essence of this. Sometimes we face such daunting problems that it is hard to summon the effort to get up and fight. But most of the time we do, and the effort is worth it. Terrific poem!
ReplyDeleteNice one!
ReplyDelete@Mari: Thanks:D The post called "the story: part 2" follows this one. I'll put a link in this post soon. Thanks for popping by!
ReplyDelete@Cher: Thanks, and so true. One of life's great lessons is learning to face life's problems, and try things again. Basically, perseverance is key.
