Colourful procrastination

Yes, I hate the 'P' word  but today it has been central to my existence.
However, good things have come out of it (or at least fun-to-do things) , like exhibit-A below in which I go a bit crazy in Photoshop...

That's my two cents for the day... The image on the left is an earlier stage and then I cropped it, copied it and blurred it and got the images on the right. Gotta love the smudge and blur tools!

Images of unexpected beauty

You might have taken a wild guess; a shot in the dark... that this blogger is really busy these days.
Yes, university is indeed on a roll again. And it is a good roll (the rocking kind).
It is causing an inspirational revolution in my head!
Allow me to share some images that have inspired me (and that I took myself so please ask if you'd like to use one. There is no copyright but at least have some copy-courtesy...)

This is a painting that was purely for the sake of it. I know it's not brilliant but it felt awesome to paint without a care in the world (and to Beatles music). A day later I painted over it again... and it became very blue. I'll probably paint over it about a million times just for the sake of it with the pure bliss of doing it for no reason at all.

Inspirational Friday

A perfect song to celebrate!

The Cure - Friday I'm in Love

Yes, I may just be singing and dancing my *** off to this song.
It's so happy and vibey, I just can't help it!
I may just decide to have Inspiration Fridays from now on (decision pending...) but due to the erratic nature of this, blog... Maybe not.

Here is another inspirational song, that ought to get you lip-sinking at the very least. Hope it motivates you. Get up and dance! Laugh a little!

Melancholy Wednesday

Life is filled with worrying. It is like a cage that spirals into pieces, turns into prison cuffs and circles around your wrists. It feels like metal in your soul. Worrying and wondering, as a cold chain threatens its clutch on your chest.
Why
How
What will they say
Why do they risk their lives
Why do they risk my life
Why are we even here
Why anger
Why placidity and acceptance
Why
Why
Why

Doodle party in my head

Life took over for a second and I was unfaithful to the blog-world... :-o
Oh well, I can box this in the 'better late than never' category.
This is the rest of the doodle-mania and doodle-icious story:

Well, as I mentioned, with this type of thing, nothing is set in stone. It is, however, one aspects that psychologists can use in analysing what a person is like and it is kind of linked to handwriting-analysis, I've gathered. After analysing my own doodles, I am:

  1. Slightly afraid of people looking into my subconscious
  2. Seriously considering a multiple-personality on my part...

Here are the specifics:

This Blogger goes crazy over doodles...

There is quite possibly an ‘illness’ called Doodle-mania.
If there is, then I need to see a doctor...

Although, I like to think that it’s just an attack of creativity that emerges on some subconscious level. Really though, doodles have been with me for years, and sometimes its twirls, sometimes geometric shapes and recently, a fascination with circles. They act on their own. All I have to do is put pen to paper and, what I presume is my subconscious mind, comes to life (this is why studying and attempting to write something ordered on paper is problematic).

Identity

A thought occurs... Like a spider contemplating its complex web, I contemplate my very own piece in the www. It may not seem like much, but it means a lot.

Weaving and spinning
identity
leaves my veins
and splatters
all over the computer screen.

Oh scatter-veined spider, is it time for structure?

Another fresh start

Decided to stop obsessively blogging every day. My logic is that the blog posts will be better when they don't have to be posted. Instead, the blog posts should be much more heartfelt and full of quality.
The post-a-day challenge was fun while it lasted though.

But now
vast
freedom
awaits
and boundaries need to be broken.

Expect some good stuff in the future!

On The Beatles topic...

This is a continuation of the last post (thought it was a tad boring to have everything in one). It continues on the theme of The Beatles (to whom I have expressed my unwavering devotion... i.e. I'm a fan!).

You might learn something new today... Or you may go straight to the bottom of the post where I will link to some Beatles music (I know you want to;-))

A short bio of the Beatles

There is no doubt that The Beatles have made a lasting impression on 20th century musical history. Their creative, experimental approach to music was more successful than other groups, where experimentation was seen as juvenile. Like most bands, they started out with a bit of uncertainty and with a mixture of different band members and band names such as 'The Quarrymen' and 'The Silver Beatles'. 'The Beatles' is the name that stuck though, and they later became known among fans as "The Fab Four".

The final and well-known Beatles consisted of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. Their music sends messages of love, peace, imagination, creativity and often evokes a feeling of liberation. It also features different musical styles like Jazz, Rock and Cosmopolitan. They inspired a popular culture movement in a way, with people copying their style and long hair. However, they were not only popular amongst Pop fans. They also inspired comment from the public and broke barriers of taste, class and age.
