Head space

What is going on in Heart/Flameheart's mind these days? Well, let me tell you...

  • Thinking about the direction of my life
  • Thinking about the direction of this blog
  • Wanting to do everything at once
  • Looking forward to Afrika Burn, which is just around the corner!
  • Yes, I am going through a bit of a quietly overwhelmed moment in which I want to be energetic and busy with everything at once, but instead am just plodding along with mediocrity...
  • I am torn with whether to post this boring outlook or not...

This might sound vaguely familiar to you but, then again, it might not.
          That's great if it doesn't :-)

What can I do to make the reader of this post smile instead of hang their heads or click-away as soon as they can? Here are things which might just do it:

A Celebration of new Hope

So... I haven't blogged in a couple of days and this seems like the perfect post to freshen things up. It is also appropriate because of the uncertainty and sadness that has been gripping the world, especially regarding Japan. My thoughts are with all the people in Japan or abroad who lost loved ones or were badly affected by the earthquake and tsunami. For you I wish for love, care, empathy and, mostly, Hope.

This is a poem that I wrote in 2007:

50

I said to myself that I would do something when the followers of this blog hit 50... And now it's here.
I guess I could be all nostalgic about starting a blog (*sniff) and it would never have been possible without [rattle off a long list here]. (*sniff *sniff) Thank you thank you...

But really now, thank-you:-)

It means a lot that there are people out there who read this titbit of cyber-babble in the midst of the blogosphere which contains thousands... wait... no way! Over 50 million blogs :-o
And that was in 2006...
When you put it into perspective, that means that there are millions of internet users too, so it makes sense that all blogs have opportunities to get-a-life.

Excitement!

It travels through my ears and triggers a faster beat in my heart...

I jump up and down inside, my thoughts, emotions and every molecule of my body breaks out in song and dance...

It is the idea
the philosophy
the inkling of the thought...

My heart

This is a poem that I wrote in 2007.

Through the aorta, through my arteries and veins,
my blood pumps mechanically in.
Out.
The blood has no feeling:
Only an ever-changing destination.
How can this organ
play such a rythmical tune?
It is a beat in the midst of all the bloody components;
It is a lifeline and its duty is clear:
To begin life.
To sustain life.
To be life.
But it has no feeling of its own.
It just lives to live and then one day,
It lives no more.
And yet we still love that instrument
which sings its beat
amidst all the gore.
