I've just realised something totally extraordinary; out of the blue. I undoubtedly, full-heartedly, adoringly, love buttons! No, not the kind that appear on your blouse or jeans, the type that is sitting right beneath your fingers right now- on your keyboard...

*Fantastical night*
It's time for the night-time version of Afrika Burn!
As I have mentioned numerous times, Afrika Burn is a festival/event that is full of vibrancy and colour. Now, if the beautiful imagery of the daytime isn't enough, how about the spectacular visions of the night?

Afrika Burn *daytime visions*
Well, what can I say? Afrika Burn was definitely not a disappointment this year. It was like being back home: the colours, vibrancy of people and feeling of community was just how I remembered it from last year. I have many pictures to show the blogging community as promised;)
For those that are not aware, Afrika Burn is a community, participation-based art event that is based on the idea of Burning Man on America. In fact, it is the Burning Man of South Africa, and it's wonderful.
So, without further ado, here are the photos that I took at the event. I could have taken many more but I was participating in the wonder that is Afrika Burn. Taking photo's seemed an obscene idea at times because the whole point is to experience and not to be a spectator. OK, photo time! ;-)
To the left is a picture of the beautiful Heart tent camp (no relation to me... in fact I think it was called the Love camp) Inside the tent, on the one side, is a no-smoking/no-drinking sacred area. It is like a sacred place in which to sit, meditate, day-dream or ponder. On the other side of the tent, yoga classes were held and other interesting things very similar to yoga with names I can not pronounce.

A pocket-full of random
A spur-of-the-moment 'poem'. It feels like I can write again. Well, in a short format... I used to write poetry and then I went through a dry patch. This is a
moment of inspiration I had yesterday. Welcome to 2011 poetry, even if it
is short.

Life is but a yellow-black rose

Life is but a yellow-black rose
bitten by our smitten lies
but hiding in the centrefold
is the answer in disguise

Just Ramble on
Here's a post that should have been posted about 2 weeks ago... Pre-AfrikaBurn... Enjoy? The post-burn is on its way...
_____________________________________________________________
The time is here. The time is now.
OK, no it's not :)
In fact, the time is in a couple of days (namely 27 April): Afrika Burn time!
Since this blog obviously isn't doing the routine thing yet, these haphazard posts actually slot in quite nicely amidst the organised chaos that represents part of my brain, but I'll add a picture or two at the end of this ramble, to keep you from utter [insert word/ body-part] wrenching boredom (should that even be allowed as a figure of speech?) :-o
Just to let the people who like to pay this blog a visit once in a while, it is very likely that my next blog post will be after 3 May, after returning from the burn. OK, don't pop my bubble... Let's pretend that my blog posts matter for a second. Lol. *Just joking*
I feel like writing a chatty, let's have a cup of coffee type of post... Or tea. Actually I'd prefer a cup of tea, thanks. So, how's the weather? Your day good? OK, enough with the small talk already.
